Univision Communications and Amazon are partnering in the U.S. to introduce new Spanish-language skills on Alexa, Amazon's cloud-based voice service. Starting in early October, Alexa users will be able to access Univision's Spanish-language content on Amazon's family of Echo products, including live listening on all Uforia radio stations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, national news briefs from Univision Noticias and sports briefs from TUDN, Univision's multi-media sports brand.
Amazon's new Univision Spanish-language skills include access to the Spanish-language audio offering on Alexa, including all 58 of Uforia's local radio stations, as well as more than 89 affiliates. Alexa users will be able to request Uforia stations by name, frequency or call letters. The Uforia skill also offers replays of shows such as "El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo," "Omar y Argelia," "Raul Brindis" and "Uforia Countdown with Jackie Guerrido."
In addition, the deal also includes daily excerpts from Univision Noticias' coverage of national news as well as select highlights from TUDN's coverage of soccer leagues Liga MX, UEFA Champions League and MLS. The Univision Spanish-language skills are free for Alexa users.
"As the leader in news, sports, entertainment and music for Hispanics, we are thrilled to bring Univision's audio offerings to Alexa the leading voice platform," said Univision President of Radio Jesus Lara. "We are excited in extending our rich content offerings to new platforms and to partner with Amazon to make voice search faster and more intelligent, en EspaƱol."
