WWO News Presents Veterans Day Reports Honoring Military
RADIO ONLINE | Monday, November 4, 2019 |
Cumulus Media's Westwood One announces an 11-part series of reports in honor of the brave men and women of our military. Each Veterans Day report is approximately one minute long and will feature the men and women who make up the U.S. veteran population. They include perspectives from national leaders and veterans of varying ages, and look into how veterans view their service and the day set aside to honor it.
The reports will examine health, education and readjustment issues impacting veterans - and provide listeners ways they can show concern for those who've worn their nation's uniform - by making Veterans Day not just an occasion to offer former military people a "thanks for your service," but a day of service to those who've served. The series is reported and produced by Westwood One News reporter Chas Henry, himself a combat decorated veteran of the 1991 Gulf War.
Henry reports on security matters and issues impacting military veterans. A combat-decorated veteran of the 1991 Gulf War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps -- rising in rank from private to captain. In addition to his work with Westwood One News, Henry has been a television and radio reporter in Washington, DC with NewsChannel 8 and ABC 7, WTOP, WNEW and host of veterans programs for CBS News. He has reported from Iraq, Afghanistan & Qatar and has been recognized with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association - and selected for numerous tributes by the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists.
