WVLK/Lexington Broadcasts Opioid Awareness Today

Cumulus-owned News/Talk radio station WVLK 97.3FM/590 AM/Lexington is airing a nine-hour broadcast today dedicated to confronting the opioid crisis and how it impacts Central Kentucky and the Commonwealth. WVLK's broadcast, entitled "Enough: Opioid Awareness Day", airs from 9:00am to 6:00pm today.
WVLK has partnered with Lexington city government, local organizations and businesses to share with WVLK listeners the personal stories of addiction and recovery, city and state programs designed to help, the physical and physiological effects that lead to addiction, and alternatives to pain medications. WVLK will also provide resources for those struggling or those who know someone who is.
WVLK partners in "Enough: Opioid Awareness Day" include: The Pharmacy Shop, Isaiah House, Scott County Sheriff's Office and U.K. College of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Science.
