Mark Zander exits Mid-West Family's Active Rock WXRX-FM (104.9 The X)/Rockford, IL, as Operations Manager and Program Director over budget cuts. He had been with the station since August, 2016. Zander also programmed co-owned Sports WNTA-AM (Sportsfan Radio 1330) as well as assisting in programming of sister Active Rock WQLZ-FM/Springfield, IL, following the departure of former PD Perry Stone last May.

Zander commented, "I spent 3.5 years assembling my team and rebuilding the image and reputation of The X in the marketplace. I am extremely proud of what we were able to do with WXRX heading into it's 30th year of rocking Rockford. Thanks to Tom Walker of Mid-West Family for the opportunity to revive this heritage rock station - it was hard work, but tremendous fun."

Previously Zander served as PD of Weigel Broadcasting's Classic Pop 87.7 MeTV FM/Chicago. Prior to that he was PD/afternoon talent at crosstown Classic Rock WERV-FM (95.9 The River) and Rock WRXQ-FM (QRock 100.7).
