BFA Honors George Beasley with Lifetime Achievement Award

More than 350 broadcasters and celebrities filled the Plaza Hotel's ballroom to capacity Wednesday night, raising over $400,000 to support the mission of the Broadcasters Foundation of America. This year's event honored TEGNA Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Lougee with the Broadcasters Foundation 2020 Golden Mike Award and Beasley Media Group Founder and Chairman George Beasley with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Beasley's daughter and current Chief Executive Officer of Beasley, Caroline Beasley, accepted the award on his behalf.
The evening's presenters were National Association of Broadcasters President and Chief Executive Officer Gordon Smith, Sander Media Founder and former Belo executive Jack Sander and TEGNA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Media Operations Lynn Beall.
The annual Golden Mike Award gala is a major fundraiser for the Broadcasters Foundation of America, the only charity devoted exclusively to providing aid to broadcasters in acute need. For more information, visit www.broadcastersfoundation.org.
