Report: Cumulus Media Atlanta Stations All Under Quarentine
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, March 13, 2020 |
Cumulus Media has quarantined its Atlanta offices for several days after an employee came in contact with a friend being tested for COVID-19, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Rodney Ho. WNNX-FM (Rock 100.5) Program Director and afternoon host Axel Lowe said Jason Bailey and "Southside" Steve Rikman aired a "best of" morning show on Friday and they're preparing to work remotely next week. "It's not to panic anybody but it's where we are," said Lowe.
Even though the Cumulus employee's friend may not even have the virus, the company made the move out of an abundance of caution, Lowe said, adding that the test results of the employees friend will take about six days.
Syndicated Bert Weiss said they are going to attempt to do the show remotely, while morning host J.J. Kincaid wrote on Facebook: "Main facility quarantined? No problem!" while showing his off his home studio/office.
Rock 100.5 weekend talent Tommy McNulty also wrote on Facebook: "To all my long time loyal Rock 100.5 listeners... your boy won't be on air this weekend due to... well you know what. I don't have it (I don't think), but most of us have been requested to stay home as a precaution. The rock will still be playing however... because rock will never die (or get infected)."
