WFAN 101.9 FM/660 AM Celebrates 33 Years of Broadcasting


Entercom will celebrate WFAN 101.9 FM/660 AM's (WFAN-AM/FM) 33rd anniversary with a weekend of special programming from July 3 through 5, featuring iconic current and former hosts including Howie Rose, Steve Somers, Suzyn Waldman and more. The most listened to sports station in the country, New York's flagship sports station and the radio home of the New York Yankees will commemorate its first broadcast on July 1, 1987 with surprise guests as well as with "Best Of" shows from previous years.

"WFAN's legendary talent, the best play-by-play and, of course, the callers have all cemented its role as the soundtrack of New York sports. Every day the station sets the tone and agenda for the conversation as the most influential sports platform in the tristate. We're looking forward to celebrating 33 years of memorable moments from our history with great pride and appreciation."

Al Dukes and Jerry Recco will kick off the anniversary celebration on Friday, July 3, taking over morning drive from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET with their first-ever extended "Warm-Up Show" prior to the station's regular weekday schedule.

Longtime WFAN host Richard Neer, who has been with the station since 1988, will start the weekend programming at 6:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, July 4 at. The schedule will also feature the "Best of Boomer and Carton," the "Best of Mike and the Mad Dog," Howie Rose, original WFAN evening host and current New York Mets broadcaster on sister station WCBS-880 (WCBS-AM), station legend Steve Somers, and Bob Papa and Carl Banks, WFAN radio broadcast team for New York Giants football games, among others.
