iHM Closes on KFMB-AM/San Diego, Calls Change to KGB-AM

iHeartMedia/San Diego has completed its acquisition of KFMB-AM (AM 760)/San Diego from Local Media/San Diego. As part of the agreement, the station's call letters will change to KGB-AM, effective July 4. Under the terms of the sale, TEGNA Inc. retained ownership of the KFMB-AM call letters. The FCC has approved the use of new call letters KGB for AM 760.
"The KGB call letters are legendary in San Diego and we're excited to make them a part of AM 760's next chapter as San Diego's Talk station," said iHeartMedia San Diego Market President Melissa Forrest.
iHeartMedia began operating AM 760 KFMB under a local marketing agreement on March 17. The station will continue to broadcast its Talk format and full program lineup now that the change of ownership is complete.
The programming lineup includes: First Light (3-4am), America in the Morning (4-6am), Armstrong & Getty (6-10am), 6-10am The Mark Larson Show (10am-12pm), The Mike Slater Show (12-3pm), The Buck Sexton Show (3-6pm), The Mark Levin Show (6-10pm) and Red Eye Radio (10pm-3am).
