The 13th Annual AultCare Wish-A-Thon Raises $186,011

Alpha Media/Canton, OH announces 13th Annual AultCare Wish-A-Thon sponsored by Hot AC WHBC-FM (Mix 94.1) and News/Talk WHBC-AM raised $186,011 for Wishes Can Happen Inc., a Stark County charity that raises funds for children with life-threatening illnesses. This year held a new set of challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic but putting the utmost importance on social distancing guidelines and finding creative ways to include Wish families from afar, the team came together more than ever before to plan and execute this year's event.

The 36-hour live simulcast took place on August 13-14 and will allow Wishes Can Happen to grant another 37 wishes. Many wishes have had to be put on hold or changed due to limitations caused by the pandemic but because of the successful AultCare Wish-A-Thon, Wishes Can Happen is one of very few wish granting organizations in the country that do not have a waiting list for wishes to be granted due to funds.

"Wish families" were on hand and joined remotely to talk about their granted wishes along with families that were about to receive a wish. Special tributes were made for those children that succumbed to their illnesses. Listeners heard about wish experiences, including a local park construction, room remodels, trips to New York City, the San Diego Zoo, Hawaii, the ever-popular Disney wish and more. Wishes Can Happen says "If they can wish it - we can make it happen!"
