Bonneville Salt Lake Helps Rivals Launch Civility Campaign
RADIO ONLINE | Wednesday, October 21, 2020 |
Competing gubernatorial candidates in Utah are teaming up to release a series of ad calling for civility and Bonneville/Salt Lake City is helping them spread the word by donating airtime on radio an television.
Democrat Chris Peterson and Republican Spencer Cox first approached Bonneville's parent company Deseret Management Corporation (DMC) with the idea to work together to promote the peaceful trans of power. DMC's advertising company BonCom donated time and resources to develop the #StandUni campaign and Bonneville stations KSL Newsradio, FM100.3, The Arrow 103.5 and KSL-TV are airing the ads in-kind across all of their channels and digital assets.
"Although we sit on different sides of the aisle, we are both committed to American civility and a peaceful transition of power," said Spencer Cox.
"Utah can be an example to the nation. Whether you vote by mail, or in person, we will peacefully support the outcome of this presidential election," added Chris Peterson.
If other media companies or stations are interested in promoting a similar campaign in their markets, BonCom will provide assistance and campaign materials for free.
