Sanchez, Trujillo Launch Podcast Network Agua Media
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, March 17, 2022 |
Content creator Richard "Rick" Sanchez, and co-founder of the Latino Donor Collaborative Solomon D. "Sol" Trujillo, have announced the launch of Agua Media. Agua is a new podcast network catered to the "New American Mainstream," defined as the fastest growing, most entrepreneurial demographic in America, largely driven by young English-speaking Latinos.
Part of three Peabody Award-winning teams, Rick Sanchez hosted the number one daytime show on CNN, was a host and producer at FOX News, Univision and iHeartRadio, and was also the first U.S. Latino to host his own national newscast.
"This demographic is turned off by a lot of the content out there because it doesn't get who they are," said Sanchez. "Agua's mission is to present stories through a wider perspective, keeping with the needs of this vast and young mainstream economic force."
Agua's vision is to create content for the U.S. Latino+ community by offering a wider angle view to conversations, storytelling and interviews through the lens of New Mainstream Latinas and Latinos. Agua's slate of programming includes:
- "You Are Amazing!" - A podcast that quenches the need to be uplifted through inspirational stories of success, co-produced by Agua CCO and former Oprah Winfrey Executive Producer Corny Koehl
- "Campeones" - The real-life stories of Latino sports legends -- from Valenzuela to Canelo to Ronaldo
- "Los Heebie Jeebees" - A supernatural phenomenon narrative where true crime and horror come to life from the dark corners of Mexico
