News/Talk KTSA (550 AM & 107.1 FM)/San Antonio brought in a record $163,893, during its annual Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner radiothon Friday, October 21. The money raised will go to feed over 25,000 seniors and needy people on Thanksgiving Day. The Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner is the largest dinner of its kind in the country.

Kicking off at 5am with Trey Ware, KTSA listeners heard the likes of legendary Texas musician Augie Meyers and Country musician Rick Rice of Rick Rice Band. Adding to the fun, Window World Owner and KTSA weekend host of "The Home Improvement Show," Martin Bomba, was challenged to sing if a $500 donation was made. He delivered with a tune from Stevie Ray Vaughn, and then challenged Ware if a $1,000 donation was made, that it was his turn on the mic. Immediately following the challenge, the phone rang and Ware took the mic.

Fellow KTSA host, Sean Rima joined shortly after with his signature cowboy hat, followed by San Antonio Sports Star 94.1 FM, and 1250 AM's own R&R in the Morning team -- Rob Thompson and Rudy J. Sports Star's "The Blitz" hosts, Jason Minnix and Joe Reinagel followed, and afternoon host Jack Riccardi brought it home to close out the day.

The record year's success was attributed to the combination of the loyal listeners that generously supported the event, the class act Raul Jimenez family and volunteers and the unwavering support of station clients and sponsors, along with the best in class Alpha Media team.
