Talker Larry Elder Officially Announces Presidential Bid
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, April 21, 2023 |
Former Salem Radio Network host Larry Elder is running for President as a Republican. He formally declared his candidacy for the office Tuesday evening during an appearance on FOX News and "Tucker Carlson Tonight." "We can enter a new American Golden Age, but we must choose a leader who can bring us there. That's why I'm running for President," he said.
In 2021, Larry Elder attempted to become Governor of California in a recall election against incumbent Governor Gavin Newsom. However, California voters ultimately chose not to recall Newsom. However, the conservative radio show host outperformed his fellow Republican competitors in fundraising efforts in his campaign.
"America is in decline, but this decline is not inevitable," Elder posted on Twitter after his appearance on FOX News. "We can enter a new American Golden Age, but we must choose a leader who can bring us there. That's why I'm running for President."
Of coruse, Elder has thrown his hat into the ring with several other candidates for the Republican Presidential nomination, including former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy. It's widely expected that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will soon enter the race.
