Buckley Broadcasting Divests Syracuse NY Cluster
Buckley Broadcasting Corp. is divesting its radio holdings in Syracuse, NY, for an undisclosed amount to Leatherstocking Media Group. Included in the deal are 5kw Oldies WFBL-AM (1390), Classic Hits WSEN-AM (1399) and 25kw WSEN-FM (92.1). Leatherstocking will begin operating the stations under a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA), effective September 1.
Leatherstocking is headed by James V. Johnson and recently acquired WMCR-AM and FM in Oneida, NY, after divesting several New York radio stations a number of years ago.
Buckley Radio, headed by Richard D. Buckley, also owns 17 other radio stations nationwide, from California to Connecticut. Dick Foreman of Richard A. Foreman Associates initiated the transaction and served as the exclusive broker representing Buckley Radio Corp.
