The FCC has approved the return of KMAJ-FM (Magic 107.7)/Topeka into Cumulus Media's local broadcast group. The AC outlet had been in a trust since 2005 when Cumulus Media Partners acquired Susquehanna Radio for $1.2 billion. At the time, the transaction put Cumulus over the FCC ownership limits with the number of FM stations it could own in Topeka.
Since then, Cumulus has successful transferred the station's city of license from Shawnee to Carbondale, moving it out of the Kansas City metro as determined by Arbitron.
