Steckline Closes Buy of Radio Disney's KQAM/Wichita

Steckline Communications has closed on its acquisition of KQAM-AM (1480)/Wichita from Radio Disney. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Steckline plans to convert the station to News/Talk to compliment its co-owned all-Sports outlet, KGSO-AM (1410). KGSO GM Todd Johnson will add those duties with KQAM.
Steckline President Greg Steckline says the company wasn't looking for new stations. "This one just kind of happened," he told Bizjournals.com. "We just happened to be in the right place at the right time." He added that there are no futher plans to buy any other stations at this time.
Steckline also owns stations in Garden City, KS, and Guymon, OK, as well as the Mid America Ag network. Michael J. Bergner of Bergner & Co. was the exclusive broker in this transaction.
