Interep Trustee Seeks Millions From Former Clients
Those radio groups who used Interep as their national rep have become a target for Kenneth Silverman, the trustee overseeing the company's chapter 11 bankruptcy. Silverman has filed recovery claims against several groups saying that in the last months of Interep's operations that broadcasters were over-compensated and that the money should be returned for the benefit of creditors.
On March 22, Silverman filed claims against Inner City for the return of $1.5 million and Emmis for $1.1 million. Other groups that could be targeted include Buckley Radio, CBS Radio, Commonwealth, Crawford Broadcasting, Curtis Media, Entercom, ESPN Radio, Legend, Lincoln Financial, Lotus, Mega, Mapleton, NextMedia, NRG, Radio Disney, Renda, Riveria, SBS and Three Eagles.
