FCC Slaps Ragan w/$17,000 Fine for Unlicened Station

The FCC has slapped Brian R. Ragan with a $17,000 Apparent Liability for Forfeiture for operating an unlicensed radio transmitter and failure to allow an inspection of the station by FCC personnel. Ragan, licensee of Amateur Radio Station KF6EGI in Suisun City, CA, was cited for operating an unlicensed transmitter on 104.9 as "KBRS" from his residence in Suisun City, CA, for six months.
Ragan now has thirty calendar days from receipt of the NAL to issue a statement signed under penalty of perjury that he is no longer operating the unauthorized station, and will make his amateur station available for inspection.
