Emmis/NY to Ring NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell
RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, April 15, 2014 |
WQHT-FM (Hot 97)/New York and sister stations WBLS-FM and WLIB-AM will celebrate their recent union at the closing bell ceremony at The NASDAQ Stock Market on Wednesday, April 16. This past February, the three stations became a unified cluster when parent company, Emmis Communications, announced it would acquire WBLS and WLIB from YMF Media.
To honor the legacies of WQHT, WBLS, and WLIB, air personalities Funk Flex and Angie Martinez from WQHT, Lenny Green, Dr. Bob Lee and Earthquake from WBLS, and Bishop Hezekiah Walker from WLIB will join company executives and invited guests as Emmis CEO Jeff Smuylan rings the closing bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square.
"As the WBLS and WLIB staffs join the Emmis family, we're very excited to celebrate by ringing the closing bell at NASDAQ," stated Smuylan.
Emmis/New York GM Deon Levingston added, "This has been a thrilling time for all of us at WQHT, WBLS, and WLIB, and what better way to remember it than ringing the closing bell at The NASDAQ Stock Market!"
