9th Annual 'Rising Through the Ranks' Course Set


Radio Advertising Bureau, BMI and the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group (MIW) will present the ninth annual "Rising Through the Ranks" Seminar on August 24-25 at BMI's Nashville office. As in years past, BMI will offer 20 scholarships for this year's program. The scholarships cover the cost of the professional development course which is designed to foster and educate current and emerging female radio managers within broadcast radio.

Sessions at this year's seminar will include, among others:

  • The Role of Today's Radio Manager
  • Managing Up and Down
  • Having Difficult Conversations
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Women in the Radio Workplace
  • Recruiting, Hiring, and Firing
  • Building Your Personal Brand
  • Small Groups and Open Discussions for Women in Management
Scholarship winners will also have the opportunity to hear from radio industry execs across various station groups and industry backgrounds. Featured speakers include: Integrated Media Solutions Group CEO Lynn Anderson, Emmis Director of Partnership Marketing Lindsay Cerajewski, HD Radio Senior VP Joe D'Angelo, RAB President/CEO Erica Farber, Entercom COO Weezie Kramer, Beasley Broadcasting Executive VP/CRO Heather Monahan, Neuhoff Media President Beth Neuhoff, Olin & Associates partner Kay Olin and BMI VP/Licensing Dan Spears.

"Rising Through the Ranks is the pinnacle annual event for the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group," noted Olin & Associates partner Kay Olin and spokesperson for the MIW Radio Group. "This two-day training workshop allows us to continue to mentor and motivate female sales managers with the goal of helping them climb their corporate ladders."

Scholarship applications and registration are available at www.rab.com and will be accepted May 2, through June 8. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their selection by Wednesday, June 29.
