KXL/Portland Taps Stouffer as Afternoon Co-anchor
RADIO ONLINE | Monday, April 14, 2014 |
KXL-FM (FM News 101) Portland, OR, names Val Stouffer as the new co-anchor of "Portland's Afternoon News," joining news anchor Dan Mitchinson, weekdays from 4-7pm. Stouffer hails from Chicago, where she worked for WMAQ and WLS. She's spent the last several years in Seattle, co-hosting afternoon news on crosstown KIRO for many years. She also worked for KOMO, where she anchored both the morning and afternoon shows.
"All of us are enjoying exploring our wonderful new neighborhood. We love cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing and spending time on the Oregon coast and wine country. Good coffee and great food and the arts round out our interests. We should fit right in here in Portland. So happy to be in such a beautiful place," said Stouffer.
PD Scott Mahalick added, "Val is a win for KXL. She brings significant news talk knowledge and incomparable experience that will benefit not only our afternoon day part but our entire station."
