KMYI-FM (Star 94.1) San Diego names Shelley Wade as its new afternoon host, airing weekdays from 2-4pm and providing entertainment features and updates from 4-8pm, effective May 31. For the last 3 years, Wade has served as midday host at iHeartMedia co-owned KSSX-FM (95.7 KISS FM) and a weekend host on iHM's KBIG-FM (104.3 MYfm) in Los Angeles. Prior to working in Southern California, Wade's voice was heard on WHTZ-FM (Z100) New York, where she worked for 12 years.
"Shelley's vibrant personality, love of music, and warmth will enhance what is already a top performing radio station," said iHeartMedia San Diego Senior VP/Programming John Peake. "We are thrilled to add a talent of Shelley's caliber to the Star 94.1 lineup."
"I've had such a blast on air at KISS-FM for the last couple years. And now I'm super excited to cross the hallway to join the amazingly talented air staff at Star," added Wade. I'm loving working directly under John Peake & Andrew Jeffries...among the best in the business. Thank you to John, Melissa Forrest & Andrew for making this amazing new chapter in journey possible."
