RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, August 22, 2017 |
KTRH-AM (Newsradio 740) Houston taps Jimmy Barrett as the new co-host of "Houston's Morning News," effective Monday, September 11. Barrett joins news anchor Shara Fryer from 5-8am on weekdays. He's inbound from Richmond, VA, where he served as morning host for iHeartMedia's WRVA-AM (News Radio 1140) for 16 years. Barrett replaces Matt Patrick who passed away in early July after a lengthy battle with cancer.
"Jimmy has a big voice, a big heart and big shoes to fill," said iHeartMedia Houston Director of AM Programming Bryan Erickson. "It's impossible for anyone to replace Matt Patrick and we all know that. I think Matt's audience will embrace Jimmy as we move forward from what has been a very difficult time."
"It took an exciting city and great radio station to get me to leave my home for the last 16 years," commented Barrett. "I'm very proud to join the team at KTRH and looking forward to becoming a part of the Houston community."
