Bob Cooney joins Anthony Gargano as co-host of the "The Fanatic Morning Show" on Sports WPEN-FM (97.5 The Fanatic) Philadelphia. He had been filling in on the Fanatic for several months. While Cooney is best known for his years as the Sixers beat writer, the sports media veteran has covered everything from the Flyers and Eagles to the World Series and the U.S. Open during his 25 years with the Philadelphia Daily News. He also covered the "Big 5" for many years before becoming the Philadelphia 76ers Beat Writer in 2009. He was named the "Pennsylvania Sports Writer of the Year" in 2016.

"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Bob as the new co-host of the Fanatic Morning Show," said VP/Market Manager Joe Bell. "He is no stranger to Philly sports. His reputation is incredible. Bob and Anthony are the perfect team to serve as the official voice of the Philly sports fan!"

"I'm really looking forward to joining the 97.5 The Fanatic Morning Show with Anthony Gargano and talking with the great fans of Philadelphia every day," added Cooney. "The knowledge and opinions of the fans in this area are rivaled by no other fan base in the country."

In addition to his morning co-hosting duties, Cooney will be extremely involved in the station's expanded Sixers coverage.
