WTKK/Boston Afternoon Host Jay Severin Suspended

WTKK-FM/Boston afternoon talk host Jay Severin was suspended indefinitely Thursday for offensive remarks about illegal aliens and the swine flu, reports the Boston Herald. The Spanish-language newspaper El Diario la Prensa in New York reported earlier this week that Severin was using the flu outbreak to attack Mexicans and immigrants.
Severin was surprised to learn about the suspension, the newspaper reprts, as the station had been using those same remarks in on-air promos.
"We're going to sit down with the station soon," said Severin's agent and attorney, George Tobia. "I am confident that everything will be resolved and Jay will be back on the air doing great radio soon."
