Alpha Broadcasting flips Talk KCMD-AM/Portland, OR, to Conservative Talk as "Freedom 970." The station made its debut Monday with "America's Morning News," co-anchored by longtime ABC/San Francisco radio newswoman Melanie Morgan alongside radio vet and award-winning columnist John McCaslin.
The syndicated morning program boasts a large group of investigative journalists (ten) that provide coverage that originates the Washington Times newsroom in Washington, DC.
Otherwise the line-up remains intact with Michael Smerconish from 9am-noon, Todd Schnitt from noon-3pm, Jason Lewis from 3-6pm, Rusty Humphries 6-9pm, Phil Hendrie weeknights 9pm-1am and The John and Jeff Show late nights, 1-6am.
"These are interesting times and each of us is affected differently by the decisions coming out of Washington D.C." commented VP/Programming Talk Stations Brian Jennings. "The AM dial has many viewpoints represented, but I feel we have lined up the most well informed radio hosts available for Freedom 970."
