Westwood One is once again partnering with U.S. Olympic rightsholder NBC Universal to air the 2010 Olympic Winter Games live from Vancouver between February 12-28 on U.S. radio. WWI will offer around-the-clock Olympic updates three times per hour, as well as live Team USA and gold medal game ice hockey play-by-play.
Live coverage of various Winter Olympic events, including figure skating, speed skating, skiing, bobsleigh and luge will also be broadcast along with a nightly Olympic wrap-up show recapping the day's events.
"America loves the Olympics, and our exclusive radio coverage brings the excitement of the games to our sponsors and listeners alike," said WWI President of Network Radio Gary Schonfeld. "As NBC's official radio partner for the 2010 Olympics, we will bring the power and passion of the athletes to our affiliates, their listeners and our advertising sponsors in real-time."
"Westwood One's live coverage of world-class athletes competing for the gold offers unique opportunities for our sponsors to reach their audiences when they are truly engaged in the programming," said VP/Sprots Sales and Marketing Steve Harrison.
