Johnson CC/Philadelphia Dir./Urban Programming


Clear Channel/Philadelphia appoints Ken Johnson as Director of Urban Programming overseeing the programming Rhythmic CHR WUSL-FM (Power 99 FM) and Urban AC WDAS-FM, effective November 16. He comes to Philadelphia from ABC Radio Networks where he was Director or Urban Programming. In addition, Johnson served as VP/Urban Programming for Cumulus Media.

"Ken Johnson's depth of experience in urban radio makes him the right person at the right time to lead WDAS-FM and Power 99 FM to even greater success on-air, on-line and in the community." said Director of Operations Brian Check.

"These are two truly special and unique brands and I am looking forward to being a part of their future in Philadelphia and working with a company that will shape the future of our business," added Johnson.

Previously, Johnson was also Program Director and air personality for WILD-AM/Boston and morning show host for WHUR-FM/Washington, DC. Johnson was a 2007 Living Legends Honoree, recipient of the 2000 NBPC Award of Excellence and the 1999 Impact Radio Executive of the Year.
