Radio One Exec Salaries Released


Salary information for Radio One top executives has been made public. CEO Alfred Liggins pulls in $980,000 in base salary. He's also eligible for a bonus equal to his base dependant on two variables. 50% of the bonus is based on achievement of individual and Company performance goals while the other half is completely at the discretion of the compensation committee.

Liggins made much less bonus last year (about $448,000, down from $1,150,000). His stock awards of $1,621,053 were slightly less than in 2010. His option awards were down from $264,375 to $100,000. In fact, Liggins' total of $3,269,618 was down significantly from the $4.2 million figure of 2010.

Radio One founder Cathy Hughes makes $750,000 per year and is eligible for a cash bonus up to $250,000 at the sole discretion of the board. She was also granted options to purchase 600,000 shares of Class D common stock as well as 150,000 restricted shares of Class D common stock. Her total 2011 compensation was down slightly from $1.8 million to $1,516,830.

Radio One rewarded CFO Peter Thompson with a total of $1,142,695 last year, building on a base salary of about $522,000. Chief Administrative Officer Linda Vilardo started with a 2011 salary of $531,977 and finished with total compensation of $944,345. Radio Division President Barry Mayo went from total comp of $902,000 in 2010 to about $811,000, but resigned on March 16 of this year.
