Veteran PD Dave Benson Joins WNRN/Charlottesville

AAA WNRN-FM/Charlottesville, VA, taps veteran AAA programmer Dave Benson as General Manager and Program Director, effective immediately. He previously served as PD of KMTT-FM (The Mountain)/Seattle for two years until his exit in June, 2011. Prior to KMTT, Benson was PD of Cumulus' AAA KFOG-FM/San Francisco, spending nine years with the company. Before joining KFOG in June, 2000, Benson was PD of KBCO-FM/Denver.
Benson said, "I finally found a radio station and a locale with the right combination of ingredients. I want to work in a creative community environment where our connection with listeners is more immediate and not distorted by the ratings game. WNRN has a unique pedigree, and committed staff and board of directors. I'm here to learn and help and play good music -- all in one of the best cities in America."
