Veteran programmer Kevin Metheny has joined Cumulus' WJR 760/Detroit as program director. He replaces Ron Harrell who exited in September 2012 for KVIL/Dallas. Metheny was most recently at Tribune's WGN/Chicago which he left in 2010. Prior to that he spent ten years with Clear Channel/Cleveland as VP of programming and operations manager but is perhaps best known for having programmed the legendary WNBC/New York City when Howard Stern was hosting afternoons at the station.
"I've long admired WJR from 90 miles across Lake Erie where I put 760 on a button the day I landed in Cleveland," Metheny says. "The Great Voice of The Great Lakes is a gold standard collection of impossible to duplicate treasures and I'm thrilled to join the Cumulus team."
