Philly Phil Named Host of WKJS ''Quiet Storm''

Radio One names veteran radio personality Phil Daniel (aka Philly Phil) as the new host of "The Quiet Storm," airing on WKJS-FM (Kiss FM)/Richmond, VA, weekdays from 7-midnight beginning April 28. He succeeds Mitch Malone, who died unexpectedly last November of natural causes. Known in Richmond by R&B and Jammin' Oldies fans, Daniel has spent 30 years on-air, notably on Richmond stations Magic 99 and Power 92, as well as hosting mornings on Jammin' Oldies Magic 105.7 up until 2003.

VP/General Manager Linda Forem commented, "The city of Richmond mourned with us the loss of Mitch Malone last November. After a nationwide search, we found Mitch's replacement in our own backyard. How fortunate we are that Philly Phil will take over The Quiet Storm, a show that gives so many so much pleasure. Phil is one of Richmond's favorite DJ's, and many who listened to him in the past will be happy to have him back on our simulcast signals." 99.3FM and 105.7FM WKJS as well as on online at www.kissrichmond.com."

Most recently, Daniel served as Program Director for Hoffman Communications and Chesapeake Broadcasting up until March, 2013.
