RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, October 16, 2014 |
WAMZ-FM/Louisville appoints Michael Jordan as the new Program Director of the iHeartMedia Country outlet. He currently serves as Operations Manager for the company's cluster in Lexington, KY and Program Director of Country WBUL-FM. Jordan will continue those duties, adding responsibility for WAMZ in Louisville. He replaces Coyote Calhoun, who is stepping down as PD at the end of 2014, after 35 years with WAMZ.
"Coyote Calhoun built WAMZ into a legendary brand," said Jordan. "We want to continue his legacy of great Country music, concerts, and a tireless dedication to the community. I'd like to thank Kelly Carls, Bill Gentry, and iHeartMedia's senior leadership for this amazing opportunity."
Regional Programming Manager Kelly Carls added, "Michael was born and raised in in Kentucky. He has distinguished himself with the outstanding success of WBUL and signature community events like the annual 4th of July Red, White and Boom festival. We're thrilled to see him bring that expertise to WAMZ."
