iHeartRadio Now Available for Use in Apple's CarPlay
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, October 23, 2014 |
iHeartRadio is now live in Apple's CarPlay and available for consumer use in select vehicles and aftermarket headunits. The CarPlay integration, originally announced in March, is another big step for iHeartRadio's auto offerings and places its popular iPhone app right in the car's dashboard. iHeartRadio's CarPlay integration ensures a seamless, easy-to-access and consistent user experience for its listeners across all connected platforms.
Users of the Carplay integration can access their favorite live radio, custom stations and talk show content, and browse additional content recommended based on listening preferences. Several new automotive OEMs and aftermarket manufacturers will be adding CarPlay support over the next several months.
The integration also speaks to the larger growth of automotive infotainment and how developers moving forward must look beyond just smartphone screens and to the dashboard as well.
