JVC Launches ''103.1 The Wolf'' in Orlando


JVC Media closed on its purchase of WHKQ-FM (103.1) in Orlando, this past Monday (12-15) and has now announced that it will be changing formats today at 1:03pm ET. At that time they will launch WOTW-FM (The Wolf) which will start playing 10,000 of the hottest country hits and the greatest country throwbacks in a row.

JVC Media has been in a rapid growth mode, recently expanding in Florida and Long Island with its entertainment and broadcast division adding jobs, staff and working hard to make radio local and community friendly once again. "I can't wait to turn on the Wolf and listen to it pump out the greatest country hits," said JVC Media CEO, John Caracciolo. VP, COO Victor Canales added, "15 years ago I came to Orlando as a night jock and met some of the most talented folks in the radio industry, today they are a part of 'The Wolf Pack'. Orlando, get ready to HOWL with 103.1 The Wolf, Orlando's Country Hits and Throwbacks" This station is sure to become your number ONE preset.

The programming will be headed by market Vet Rod Grant, aka Shadow, "I love this market and this format and I am thrilled to be back in the driver seat. This is going to be the listeners Country station and we are going to be very promotionally active and visible in the market. This is going to be a radio station that is live, local and fun, the way radio is supposed to be."
