KFI/Los Angeles Receives Seven Golden Mike Awards

The Radio & Television News Association of Southern California handed out its 65th annual Golden Mike Awards on Saturday night. iHeartMedia's News/Talk KFI-AM/Los Angeles and its news department, along with reporter Steve Gregory, took home at total of seven Golden Mikes at the RTNA awards dinner. Radio awards were as follows:
- Best Radio News Special: "Breaking Down The Border Crisis" - Steve Gregory, Oswaldo Borraez Best Radio Investigative Reporting: "Mold School" - Steve Gregory, Oswaldo Borraez Best Radio Light Feature (less than a minute): "Valentine's Day Flower Inspection" - Steve Gregory Best Radio Serious Feature (less than a minute): "Operation Boo" - Steve Gregory Best Radio Hard News Series: "Trial Of Jailed Marine In Mexico" Best Radio Internet News Reporting: "Operation Boo" - Steve Gregory, David Perez Best Radio Newscast (under 15 minutes) - KFI AM 640
Gregory added, "It's wonderful to be recognized like this from the RTNA and I'm especially proud of my partnership with Oswaldo Borraez from Univision, and our 3-hour special report on the US and Mexico border."
