WBLS Introduces ''Ciroc Saturdays'' w/Chillout
RADIO ONLINE | Monday, February 9, 2015 |
Urban WBLS-FM/New York recently launched "Ciroc Saturdays" with DJ Chuck Chillout into their line-up from 11-midnight every Saturday night. The show focuses on providing listeners with a mix of their favorite R&B and Classic Hip Hop hits. As one of the pioneer DJs in the format, Chillout has introduced the world to some of the biggest hits from icons such as Run DMC, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Salt-N-Pepa and Slick Rick.
"I used to spin Chuck's single 'Rock the House' at teen parties during my high school years," stated Program Director Skip Dillard. "It's a blessing to work with him in 2015! I don't think any of us at the time could have dreamed of the billion dollar industry Chuck and his crew of forward-thinking innovators created."
"It feels great to increase my role here at WBLS with my own show," added Chillout. "This is an opportunity whereby I can provide listeners with a great experience during the ultimate Saturday night old school Hip Hop and R&B show, the Ciroc hour. I am humbled and look forward to further expanding the WBLS brand."
Chuck Chillout began his career on 98.7 Kiss FM in 1982, becoming well-known beyond just the radio scene. He has toured with Public Enemy to sold out performances, spun at high-profile venues, and serves on the board of the Universal Hip Hop Museum.
