WEND/Charlotte to Carry NASCAR Sprint Cup Races
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, February 20, 2015 |
iHeartMedia Alternative WEND-FM (106.5 The End)/Charlotte will carry all the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, beginning with the Daytona 500 this Sunday, reports the Charlotte Observer. The deal, which runs through the 2017 season, includes 38 Sprint Cup races, including the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, the Coca-Cola 600 in May and the Bank Of America 500 in October, all of which will be at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
"It makes sense from a marketing perspective," said iHeartMedia/Charlotte Regional Market Manager Charlie Wilkinson. "There's a lot of synergy between the two."
"It's only fitting that the millions of fans across our markets have a consistent place to find NASCAR broadcasts on the radio," said Charlotte Motor Speedway VP/Sales Tim Schuldt.
