Cumulus Urban AC WNBM-FM (Radio 103.9)/New York Program Director Ken Johnson exits to return to co-owned Urban AC WUHT-FM/Birmingham as PD. He transferred to New York last Summer. Johnson replaces Sam Nelson, who heads to iHeartMedia/Savannah, GA, as Director of Urban Programming. Previously, Johnson served as Director of Urban Programming for Clear Channel/Philadelphia.
Before joining the Clear Channel's Philadelphia group in November, 2009, he served as Director or Urban Programming for the former ABC Radio Networks. In addition, Johnson previously handled VP/Urban Programming duties for Cumulus Media.
Johnson also served as Program Director and air personality for WILD-AM/Boston and morning show host for WHUR-FM/Washington, DC. Johnson was a 2007 Living Legends Honoree, recipient of the 2000 NBPC Award of Excellence and the 1999 Impact Radio Executive of the Year.
