Farm, Ranch and Agriculture Groups Join FRA
RADIO ONLINE | Wednesday, April 29, 2015 |
The Free Radio Alliance welcomes the National Farmers Union (NFU), United States Cattlemen's Association (USCA), American Agri-Women (AAW), Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) and Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE) as members. As such, Free Radio Alliance spokesperson Peggy Binzel said, "The role of farm broadcasting and free, local broadcast radio in rural America is just as important today as it was decades ago."
She continued, "Despite a host of new technologies, radio remains the single most important, accurate and trusted information source for providing America's three million farmers and ranchers the latest in agriculture news, from morning farm and market reports to critical weather information and more."
"While Internet connectivity may be spotty, access to the morning farm report on the radio is a constant almost everywhere there are farmers-that's why a majority tune in every week. It takes more than farm reports to keep these radio stations financially sound, and music is an important part of the equation," she added. "In a world where the Internet may not be available everywhere 24/7, radio stands out as the place where farmers and ranchers can still get the best of news, information and entertainment everywhere and without paying a penny."
