RADIO ONLINE | Monday, May 16, 2016 |
ABC Radio VP/General Manager Steve Jones announces that Scott Goldberg has been named the midday Information Network anchor for ABC News Radio, filling the role previously held by Cheri Preston. Goldberg will anchor national newscasts during midday hours each weekday. In December, Preston took over the morning drive anchor duties for the ABC News Radio Information Network.
Since joining ABC News Radio in 2012, Goldberg has covered a wide range of major stories including both Hurricanes Irene and Sandy, the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombing suspects and two presidential elections. He'll continue using his reporting skills this summer, when he travels to Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
In 2015, Goldberg received the national Edward R. Murrow Award for writing. He also was a member of the teams that won the Edward R. Murrow Award for ABC News Radio's coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings and Overall Excellence in 2014 and 2015. Prior to joining ABC News, Scott received five Emmys and two regional Murrows.
