Award Winning Texas Personality Lawrence Dies


Radio Online is saddened to report the passing of Mike Lawrence, one half of the award winning radio morning show "Mike and Dana" which entertained audiences in West Texas for 25 plus years.

Mike passed away suddenly Saturday night at the couple's home in New Mexico, where they had retired as of December of 2014. "Mike and Dana" signd off the air on KICKS 99.1 on December 19, 2014. Their morning show was honored by the Academy of Country Music (ACM), The Country Music Association (CMA) and the Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB). They are also to be honored with induction into the Country Radio Hall of Fame on June 22 in Nashville.

John Moesch, VP/GM West Texas Radio Group issued the following statement: "The entire KICKS 99 Family is devastated by the sudden passing of Mike Lawrence. Our prayers and condolences go out to Mike's wife and partner Dana and to their entire family. He, along with Dana, provided so much joy to West Texas listeners and was extremely active in the community supporting and raising money for many charities including Children's Miracle Network. Mike will be greatly missed."
