RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, September 13, 2016 |
Next month, NPR podcast fans can put faces to the voices of some of their favorite hosts. Two of NPR's most popular podcasts -- "Pop Culture Happy Hour" and "Embedded" -- and the latest addition -- "How I Built This" -- will appear at the Now Hear This podcast festival. The festival, October 28-30, in Anaheim, CA, will bring podcast hosts and fans together for a weekend of live performances, meet-and-greet opportunities and immersive fan experiences.
Pop Culture Happy Hour
Host Linda Holmes and panelists Stephen Thompson and Glen Weldon as they break down the latest movies, books, TV and music that are making them happy. The live show will also feature a special guest and a pop culture quiz.
Embedded
Host Kelly McEvers will give attendees a behind the scenes look at her reporting, sharing stories about what it was like to embed with the people and places in the news. Listeners will also hear an update on some of their favorite voices from Embedded's first season.
How I Built This
For the new NPR podcast's first public event, Guy Raz -- who also hosts The TED Radio Hour -- will speak with a special guest to hear how she took a simple idea and turned it into a hugely successful business.
Full details on the festival, including talent, schedule and ticketing can be found at Now Hear This. NPR is the number one producer of podcasts according to Podtrac, the measurement service, with 62 million downloads per month.
