Colombia joins Mexico and Peru as the next Latin America country where consumers can tune to their favorite local FM radio stations using the NextRadio app. The app was turned on in the Google Play Store on March 15 and now works on all compatible phones. Later this year, additional expansion NextRadio app is planned to cover more Latin American countries by offering NextRadio within the Google Play Store in Brazil and Argentina.
"We continue to focus our efforts on working with handset makers to turn on the FM Chip and since most have said yes to U.S. phones, it is an easier transition to ask for LATAM activation. We see a big opportunity to serve the broadcast community with rich data insights into their radio listeners which can in turn be offered to their advertisers," said TagStation President Paul Brenner.
