Univision Deportes Launches Sports Radio Network


Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports unit of Univision, officially launches its new national sports radio network Univision Deportes Radio. The network will carry a lineup of soccer matches, including live national broadcasts featuring teams from LigaMX, CopaMX, the U.S. National teams, MLS and Liga Portugal. Broadcasts will include 160 live matches from the Mexican league's first division. Fanaticos of these soccer league will be treated to regular season, quarter and semi-final playoff rounds and final championship matches.

All the live action will be called and analyzed by several veteran sports talent ranging from such colorful favorites as Javier "Zully" Ledesma, Reinaldo Navia and Ramon Morales. The team will also deliver pre- and post-game shows.

Univision Deportes Radio will also air a varied line-up of local market games -- more than 600 in total -- from other major league sports teams. Local market contests will feature: MLB/Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Ranger. NBA/Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks. MLS/FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, Chicago Fire. NFL/Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals. And NHL/Chicago Blackhawks.

"This launch completes our 360-degree offering, allowing us to position Univision Deportes as a leading multi-platform sports brand. We are very proud to be the number one destination for soccer in the U.S. and we're equally excited to build on this by offering our audience local MLB, NBA and NFL games, in-depth and informative in-studio radio shows, as well as a wealth and variety of sports content across the country."

The radio network will initially be available in 10 markets, including: WRTO-AM/Chicago, KGBT-AM/McAllen, KFLC-AM/Dallas, WQBA-AM/Miami, KLAT-AM/Houston, WADO-AM/New York, KLSQ-AM/Las Vegas, KHOV-FM/Phoenix, KTNQ-AM/Los Angeles and KCOR-AM/San Antonio.
