RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, February 15, 2018 |
AXS TV and KMG Networks, a division of Krantz Media Group, will bring AXS TV's original series "The Big Interview with Dan Rather" to U.S. radio. Advertising sales will be handled by Westwood One. Stations will receive an audio version of the series along with a corresponding video segment to post on their websites, mobile apps and social media channels. Plus, of course, custom liners and promos featuring Rather,
With a career spanning almost seven decades, Dan Rather has secured his place as one of the most trusted names in journalism and a pioneer of evening news, serving as anchor of "CBS Evening News" for over two decades. Now, Rather continues his legacy as host of "The Big Interview," traveling across the country to sit down with some of entertainment's most influential trailblazers and getting them to open up about their private lives and celebrated careers as only he can.
"AXS TV is proud to announce this exciting first-of-its-kind audio partnership with KMG Networks. Giving listeners with a love for rock and roll an opportunity to hear some of Dan Rather's best interviews over the years will act as a perfect promotional launching pad as we gear up for the season premiere of The Big Interview on March 13," said AXS TV COO Jeff Cuban. "Stations around the country now have access to an impressive roster of unique, insightful, and candid conversations Dan had with some of the most influential figures in rock, including Crosby, Stills & Nash, Gene Simmons, Carlos Santana, Pat Benatar, Heart, Gregg Allman, Bryan Adams, John Fogerty, Sammy Hagar, Neil Young, Billy Gibbons and Roger Waters."
"The minute this series launched in 2013, I knew we could eventually bring it to radio, said KMG Founder/CEO Gary Krantz. "Those who listen to the classic rock-based formats grew up watching Dan on television every night. He has the ability to reach deep within the artists he is talking to, making them more willing to be quite revealing. These are unique conversations that show a different side of the biggest artists and musicians in the world."
