Westwood One Set to Debut ''Run Like a Girl Podcast''
RADIO ONLINE | Monday, August 13, 2018 |
In collaboration with Cult Favorite Media, Westwood One launches a new podcast with one goal -- to get as many women on both sides of the aisle elected to office as possible. "Run Like a Girl," co-created and hosted by voiceover talent and screenwriter Tracy Fraim, introduces listeners to different female candidates from across the country who are running the race of their lives beginning August 23. The podcast is a non-partisan show also co-created and executive produced by media veteran Corny Koehl, former Executive Producer of Oprah Radio.
"The time is now for these exceptional women," said Suzanne Grimes, EVP, Marketing for Cumulus Media and President of Westwood One. "They're courageous and tenacious, and we are proud to shine our spotlight on their personal stories and support them with a massive radio, social, and influencer marketing campaign."
"Women represent a paltry 20% of the seats in Congress," said co-creator and executive producer Donna Fazzari. "To change that equation once and for all, we need to normalize what it's like for a woman to run and in turn, lead this country. The intimate medium of podcasting is an ideal environment to experience the triumphs and challenges of these candidates as they push through political boundaries."
