AMC Partners Escanaba to Acquire Eight from Sovereign

AMC Partners Escanaba LLC has agreed to acquire eight stations from Sovereign Communications. These stations operate in Iron Mountain-Escanaba and Marquette regions, all in Northern Michigan. Included in the deal are 100kW WIMK-FM (93.1), 2.55 kW WZNL-FM (94.3) and 1kW WMIQ-AM (1450)/Iron Mountain-Escanaba, along with 100kW WJPD-FM (92.3), 4.4kW WUPK-FM (94.1), 3.6kW WNGE-FM (99.5), 5kW WDMJ-AM (1320) and 1kW WIAN-AM (1240)/Marquette.

The seller, Sovereign Communications, is a Michigan-based company headed by Bill Gleich. Sovereign also owns radio stations in the Newberry and Sault Sainte Marie regions, all in Northern Michigan. The buyer, AMC Partners Escanaba, is a Wisconsin-based company headed by Terry Shockley and Chris Bernier.
