FCC Commissioner Michael O'Rielly has been nominated by President Trump to another five-year term with the agency that ends in June, 2024. A commissioner since November 2013, O'Rielly began his tenure at the agency by serving a partial term -- what was left of former commissioner Robert McDowell, which ended in 2014. O'Rielly was previously confirmed to serve the full five-year term that started in July, 2014.

NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith said, "NAB strongly supports the renomination of Mike O'Rielly to the FCC. Without question, Commissioner O'Rielly has served in this position with class, integrity and distinction. On a personal note, I've known Mike since his days as a Capitol Hill staffer, and I am so pleased with this reappointment. I urge my former colleagues in the Senate to swiftly confirm him."

Before joining the FCC, O'Rielly was an advisor to Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn. O'Rielly previously worked for the Senate Republican Policy Committee as a policy analyst for banking, technology, transportation, trade and commerce issues from 2009 to 2010. He also served as legislative director for Sen. John Sununu from 2007 to 2009 and as senior legislative assistant from 2003 to 2007.
