Beasley Media Group is extending company-wide furloughs and pay reductions -- announced last April -- from the end of June to the end of 2020. It follows the news that iHeartMedia would extend their furloughs for non-essential employees for 90 days on Wednesday. Bealsley has also eliminated more posts due to the financial strain from COVID-19 on advertising revenues affecting the radio industry.

In a memo to employees obtained by RADIO ONLINE, CEO Caroline Beasley wrote, "Similar to other companies, Beasley has evolved the way we approach our daily operations as a result of the economic impact caused by the pandemic." She added, "No one could have ever anticipated that several of our markets would not begin the first phase of the reopening process until June. As a result, we must continue to adapt to the new financial environment we are facing within each of our individual markets."

Caroline Beasley will continue with a 20% reduction in her compensation package until December 31, while the company reduced performance-based bonuses for the last two quarters of the year. It's also extending the 10% wage cut for salaried employees and the 10% reduction in hours for full-time hourly employeesput in place last April.

Among the new layoffs is Country WXTU-FM/Philadelphia Imaging Director, Production Director and midday host Brian McKay. Also exiting is Classic Rock WCSX-FM/Detroit morning co-host Erin Vermeulen. And in Philadelphia market vetn Nancy Palumbo exits Classic Rock WMGKFM as APD/MD, while Rob Garguilo exits nights at WRXK-FM (96.1 K-Rock)/Fort Myers-Naples.
